RSNA in Chicago, the world largest and most important congress and
trade show for radiology opened its gates late November 2007. The
SCHLEIFRING booth showing technology demonstration units for CT
gantries and cable free C-arm solutions was a focal point for a
broad trade of experienced clientele. The gantry system is provided
with a state of the art non contacting data transmission systems - also
know as GigaCAP® for data rates of up to 10.3 GBit/s per channel (“no
limit”, stackable), modular designed contactless power transmission
(CPT) system for up to 150 kW and air bearing technology for high speed
applications with almost no noise combined with an axial direct drive
(also used as axial pre load for the bearing). This particular
combination of technologies in one system is exclusively available to
our customers.
The cable free C-arm system uses SCHLEIFRING standard slip ring
solutions, field tested hundred-thousand fold and operating worldwide,
for the rotational axis and an optimized system for the arm. The
transmission of power, signals and image data are combined in to a
hybrid slip ring systems for a cable free C-arm solution.
