The development and manufacturing of a 38-way signal slip ring with
integrated encoder for the European Mecury Mission meant a very special
challenge. Confronted with a temperature specification of 300°C, even
the space agency met a severe problem. Firstly never before they had to
cope with such a high temperature and then again non of the available
space approved cables would sustain 300°C and be flexible enough for a Cable Wrap or Twist Capsule solution.
