Rotating non-contacting power and data transmission
for industrial applications
Today, the increasing volume of data transmission requires advanced
technical solutions. Especially in the transmission of digital data at
high bit rates, non-contacting rotary joints are applied more often
instead of conventional contacting slip rings.
These rotating couplers - whether based on a worldwide-patented capacitive non-contacting transmission technology for data rates from 2 MBit/s up to 10 GBit/s , or based on an inductive technology
for voltage transmission of 24V / 48V and power transmission of 250W,
500W und 1000W – are available separately or in combination, according
to customers' needs.
The new standard series B of capacitive non-contacting data
transmission for all common BUS systems: CAN-Bus, Profibus through to
Fast Ethernet and customer specific bus systems in combination with an
inductive non-contacting power transmission make for an extensive
portfolio of products for industrial applications.
Consisting of a cylindrical rotor and stator as well as a separate
stationary electronic the Systems are available as self-contained
design or installation kit. A radial tolerance of ± 0,5 mm at an air
gap of 0,5 – 2 mm is acceptable. The patented transmission principle
allows a system effectiveness up to 90% at <± 10% output voltage
stability across all load conditions.
The standard series B rotating couplers, designed for wide temperature
range, allow up to 20 mm free inner bore i. g. for the feed through of
hydraulic channels.
Advantage of the non-contacting power transmission: independent from high speed maintenance free and long life.
Application range:
RF spindles in tooling machines, buffing machines under clean room
conditions at the semi conductor industries, steel industries due to
the chemical aggressive environment, printing industries due to dust
impact, plastic welding machines due to hot and dry environment, space
applications and even as a connector in extreme environmental
conditions e. g. Ex-proof.
