Schleifring earns “Authorized Economic Operator (AEO)” status.
The Authorized Economic Operator is classed as particularly reliable and dependable and is able to enjoy various benefits in terms of customs processing.
The award of the status of “Authorized Economic Operator” (AEO) is a seal of quality that is valid across all customs and excise law and beyond. Consequently, approvals of simplified customs registrations for imports and exports are now dependent on the applicant satisfying AEO requirements. The particulars are derived from the Customs Code Implementation Regulations, directives with EU-wide applicability and national official instructions. Following their own certification, more and more AEOs are demanding that their contract partners also become AEOs in order to reliably complete the supply chain.
Prerequisites for approval include reliability, smoothly functioning logistics and organization within the company, staff awareness of their taxable activities, a detailed understanding of the relevant customs regulations as well as the creation of security measures of both a physical and structural nature to prevent (unauthorized) outside access to corporate data and goods.
