Non-Contacting Power- and Data Transmission
For industrial applications demands in the field of lifetime and data transmission rates (e.g. Fast-/GigaBit-Ethernet, Profinet) of slip ring systems are more important than ever. Therefore SCHLEIFRING offers the adequate answer: Non-contacting power- and/or data transmission. Without the generally used brushes running on metallic surface this system is almost free of maintenance at continuous high data rates.
Functionality: For power transmission a rotationally symmetric transformer transmit power from stator to rotor inductively. Efficiency is over 95 % that means less than 5 % heat development. Actually for industrial applications slip ring systems from 1 W to 10 kW, for medical applications systems up to 200 kW, are used. Data transmission occurs capacitive in the near field. Benefit: external interfering fields have no stake on and bit error rate is <10-12 at data rates of up to 10 GBit/s per channel (in parallel circuit >40GBit/s).
Because of disconnection of data- and power transmission, the two transmission systems can be adapted separately or in combination – concerning the customer specific demands. It doesn't matter if free inner bore or media transmission is required. Most important profit of this technology: the maintenance rates of customers' facilities are essentially extended!
